NI Upgrades LabVIEW 


National Instruments Corporation (NI, part of EMERSON™) unveiled a significant upgrade to LabVIEW, its renowned 40-year-old platform for data acquisition and automation. This update enhances engineers' ability to leverage test insights for improved product and business performance. Key features include a zoom function for the block diagram, quick object creation, and visual enhancements for execution highlighting and speed options. Additionally, there's faster application rebuilding and support for Python® in a virtual environment.



Moreover, NI's collaboration with expert LabVIEW software consulting companies aims to enhance package-related workflows in LabVIEW, introducing improvements to the VI Package Manager (VIPM) and the addition of Dragon. These enhancements aim to streamline code sharing and reuse. The upgrades make LabVIEW more user-friendly, efficient and powerful, enabling test professionals and engineers to focus on enhancing business performance.

L3Harris x EDGE: New WESCAM Authorized Service Center in the UAE


L3Harris Technologies, in partnership with EDGE Group PJSC, inaugurated the new and first WESCAM Authorized Service Center (WASC) in the Middle East, on Friday, February 2, 2024. This cutting-edge facility underscores L3Harris’s dedication to reinforcing its customer-care infrastructure and fostering self-reliant national defense capabilities among its clientele.


The 42,000-square-foot WASC, managed and staffed by proficient UAE nationals, is outfitted with advanced equipment and resources necessary for servicing WESCAM MX™ Series EO/IR systems used by the UAE Armed Forces and regional clients. Leveraging EDGE's local expertise and operational proficiency, the service center aims to enhance customer operational readiness and reduce maintenance turnaround times.


L3Harris will collaborate closely with EARTH, a component of EDGE, and its Electro-Optical Centre of Excellence (EOCE), renowned for its EO/IR imaging and targeting sensor systems service capabilities.

This initiative aligns with L3Harris’s objective to strengthen the UAE's service capabilities, establish enduring partnerships in the region and further facilitate the continued success of the semiconductor and electronics component industry by driving demand for high-tech components and fostering innovation in the region.
